Charlie stepped out into the New York sunlight from her apartment building. She lifted a hand to shade her eyes and looked up at the sky, breathing in the fresh spring air. Well as fresh as air can be in New York. Slipping thin, square sunglasses on her face, she stepped onto the sidewalk and headed to Time Square and the shops.
Head held high and a smile on her beautiful red lips, she shouldered her purse and just enjoyed the wonderful spring day and she was dressed for it. She was wearing a jade green Cami (that was almost the exact color of her eyes) over a white tank top, cute little Khaki shorts that showed off her ass especially when she was wearing her bronze gladiator heels. Which she was now of course. She also had dangling silver earrings, matching necklace, bracelet and rings, and subtle make-up that especially enhanced her eyes. She looked FABULOUS! She FELT fabulous! And of course HE would expect nothing less. She laughed a little and walked as fast as her heels allowed.
Charlotte Kelly had come a long way in a year. Now 22, she had her life back. She was happy and healthy and had her powers under control. The depression and guilt that had haunted her for the past year was finally gone, for the most part. She had worked through it with Dee, or Adelia, who also helped her master her powers. What a sweet witch. She laughed a little again thinking of the fun girly spa weekend that they had had last weekend. Dee was an amazing person, not much older than herself but had so much more experience in life and in the supernatural. Still smiling Charlie was now deep in thought as instinct guided her to their meeting place where he would, undoubtedly, be waiting.
Charlie had grown up with her powers. Her telekinesis had shown up before she was a year old. By the time she was 3 she could not only make objects soar through the air at will, but set them on fire as well. Her VERY surprised parents....well ,they tried to hide her powers for as long as possible from EVERYONE. When they no longer could they moved from their home in upstate New York to New York City where they had heard her "kind" were more...accepted. More normal. But by then Charlie was in her early teens and since she had no training had minimal control over all her powers. She could read auras and mind talk well enough, but the rest of it......was out of control especially when she got really upset. Even in this place because of what she was a rare hybrid and not understood she wasn't readily accepted. She was a freak. She had few boyfriends, and those she DID have bailed on her once they found out about her powers. She had few friends, but the ones she did have were there with her through thick and thin. Just like Dee. And just like Asher.
Just the thought of Asher made her smile even more. He never thought twice about her powers and even tried to help her control them but since his powers were different, there wasn't much advice he could offer. They had been friends since grade school. They had grown up in the same town in upstate New York and her parents were the ones that told his parents about the other 'freaks' in New York City when his powers showed up.
Charlie loved Asher with all her heart and would marry him if she could....but that was impossible. And that was alright. She loved him just the way he was. Asher was just....Asher. And Ash was probably waiting impatiently at Old School Hollywood. And upscale vintage/modern store that they both ADORED! Charlotte was early, but Ash was always earlier. That boy loved to shop as much, if not MORE than she did.
Glancing around she realized she was almost there. She hurried to the store pushed her sunglasses up on her head as she reached the shade provided by the store's awning, made a tiny adjustment to her shirt to make sure she was perfect, like he would expect and opened the door.
((OMG!! That's my first post in FOREVER!!! Sorry if it sucks at all, just getting back in the flow of things but TAG ASHER HARRIS!! You're it!! Oh and I hope you don't mind I put some of their history in there. Love you!))
