October is a chilly time in New York. The woman that walked the shadowed streets in the foggy night didn't pay too much attention to where she was going. It wasn't until she was almost there that she realized that she was close to her old house. As she passed the windows of the old building she pulled down the deep hood of her long thick cloak. She shook her shoulder length red hair free and looked up at her old windows. Her blue-green eyes took in all the little details of the decaying building, her other senses on high alert. Vampires, hunters and other "creatures of the night" roamed around this area frequently at this time of night. It was far enough away from the regular human population that if one wanted to feed or fight, it wouldn't draw unwanted attention. Dee slipped her fingers to the inside of her sleeves to the silver throwing knives she kept there. She left well enough alone, but kept them for defense. She had left her...fiancee and his twin back at their main house to get some air. Things had been hectic lately and she couldn't shake the feeling that something was going to go very wrong soon. She hoped that whatever happened Dusty and Winnie would be OK.
She felt the presence behind her way before she heard footsteps. Her senses told her it was NOT human so her fingers stayed on the knives. Non-Human, especially VAMPIRE, meant not safe. It smelled familiar.....but she couldn't get a clear scent yet. Especially not in this part of New York. She closed her eyes and concentrated on everything around her. In her mind she could see the huge oak tree behind her. Fog was still rolling around the streets making it hard to actually see, but her mind was crystal clear. The moon was not quite full, but the sky was mostly clear. Dee inhaled deeply. She could smell him. He smelled..vampire.. but safe enough though one could never tell. Using her mind she turned in the direction the stranger approached, rubbing her slender thighs together to feel for the cold silver of more knives that should be there. Her long velvet dress caught some leaves crinkling them on the sidewalk. It was a jade green to compliment her eyes and barely visible under her thick cloak that was always held close to her body.
"Only very brave or very stupid dare to venture out here this time of night. Which one are you?"
She gasped as she finally got a clear sense of what she was dealing with. Her hands fell off her knives. She smiled a half smile.
"You know.....I didn't expect it to be you."
(((OK extremely stupid BUT it's a post!!!! WHOOT!!!)))

Placing his hands in his jacket pockets Benjamyn, kept his head down while he moved through the streets. It just didn't matter to him if people were pushing passed him. Where was he off to in a rush? Really...This city was impatient for what lied ahead of them. Every day was one day gone form their life. Sighing lightly, Benjamyn slipped passed the humans heading down an alleyway. He passed a few homeless people. One a woman who held onto her baby tightly in her arms as she watched Benjamyn pass her. For a moment, he took in a small scent of fear. Looking back at her, he noticed she was still watching him.
Keeping up his walking, he passed a man who had stood up the moment he saw Benjamyn. Right away the man began to ask Benjamyn for money, food, anything. Closing his dark eyes, Benjamyn shook his head, muttering he had none. As he tried to slip passed him, the man followed. Without hesitation, he disparted, leaving the homeless man to wonder back in the alley.
Appearing, Benjamyn stood where he was taking in the abandon area. So quiet and yet comforting at the same time. Closing his eyes, Benjamyn moved forth, taking in the new atmosphere around him. However, pausing where he was, Benjamyn took in a nearby aura. Someone from the distance. Inhaling its sweet scent, he caught himself. Her words even stung in him for the longest moment. Stupid or brave?
"I might as well speak none. It seems fate has brought us together once more." He spoke, looking up at her for the longest time. Looking over his shoulder, Benjamyn checked around in case his brother was near by. Jakob was always watching him. Curious to watch his twin was up to on his own. Jakob was always angry, but protective. Looking away, Benjamyn advanced rounding around her, to look at her. Taking in what she looked like again. "And may I speak the same?" He added, "How are you Adelia since long ago...It seems time has stopped after I quit playing human." At this, he stroked a small scar that was left on the top of his wrist. He had done it himself after the constant despair that took over him. But that was long ago. Looking up, his dark eyes didn't look as soft as they used too, nor did that look of question appeared on his face. It just looked...delirium.

Dee had to force her body to stay relaxed both out of her training against the undead, and the memories that threated to overwhelm her. She steeled herself with the techniques she had learned over the past year. She studied the "man" before her. Once she relaxed she discovered that the terror didn't come. The pain, the white-hot burning phantom pain, was no longer there. And to her ultimate suprise.....neither was the hatred that she had tried to keep alive. It made her happy to know that. She had finally forgiven him. She could finally let go of all that unpleasantness.
Dee smiled a true smile at his response to her question. She could tell he no more had expected to see her than she had expected to see him. He had mentioned Fate. Fate, it seemed, had a very funny way of working things out.
She watched him glance over his shoulder and knew immediately who he was looking for. Twins were always looking for each other in one way or another after all. That's part of why they were twins.
"And may I speak the same?" He said when she mentioned that she hadn't expected him. "How are you Adelia since long ago...It seems time has stopped after I quit playing human."
Her smiled faded slightly at his words. Not only had he called her Adelia, but the way mentioned playing human. It bothered her. Once she discovered she had forgiven him, she discovered she still cared for him. Adelia looked at him more carefully. Scrutinizing him from top to bottom she gazed the longest at his eyes. They were......harder. Less readable. The man she remembered didn't hide his emotions so far from the surface. She couldn't tell if it was his habit to do it all the time now, or he was just this way around her. Either way she supposed she couldn't blame him. Her keen eyes didn't miss the movement that was at his wrist.
"I'll not lie to you Ben, this past year has been a trial at times. But overall I seem to find myself very well indeed." She stepped forward to close the distance between them. She stopped mere inches from his face. "And though it hasn't been the easiest thing to do, now that I've seen you, I find that I have forgiven you when I never thought it possible." She smiled again and leaned in kissing both his cheeks European style. Adelia eyes gazed into his, like she was trying to see his non-existent soul. "Two things bother me though." she clasped both his wrists with her hands. "First you called me Adelia when you Know better," she paused when her fingers founds the little scar. "and second, you said you playing at being human. I think you better explain."

Staring at her, He watched as she crept closer to him, having no more air filter through them. His dark eyes gazed right back into hers, taking in her features. First the smile, bringing back faded shattered memories of when things were all so happy and put together. At first, Benjamyn looked away though even after his words, they were registered back into her. The smile gone from her face, he knew exactly what he said. There was no missing in that.
"Benjamyn." He corrected, "Do not call me Ben." Was the first thing he replied with. Stiffening himself, Benjamyn lifted up his head a little as she continued. She forgiven him within the year he bit her cousin? He had felt mortified that he dared to hurt her..and here she was 'forgiving' him after the mistake he made? Blinking some, Benjamyn closed his eyes at the warm touch of her. Those small kisses. And yet, her warmth warming him up.
Opening up his dark eyes again, he looked into her, just as she was looking into him. She owuld never know and understand the battle he put himself through. To beat down the weaker half of him and to just...accept his death. "You were birthed by the name of Adelia. Yes. I called you it." He told her, his tone neutral. Pulling his gaze away from her, He looked down at her hands. feeling right where his scar would be.
Pulling away her touch, Benjamyn brought his hand to him, examining his old scar. There were three diagonal white strikes on top of his wrist. Why he did something as such was beyond him. He couldn't die again, even if that was what he was shooting for. He purely used his Silver Blades for the wrong reasons. slowly, he ran his finger down the strikes then put his hands to his sides.
"You know what I mean. I walked around trying ot keep in the light no matter how much it burned. I went through the schools to relearn things I already knew. I sucked in every emotion that any possible human could do. Weak and powerless are hardly words to describe what I did to myself. I might as well had Prey tattooed onto my back, asking for blades. Its extremely tiring to have brother run to the rescue every time I tried to defend myself when I could not. human I wish not anymore. Blood still tastes bitter when I feed." Benjamyn had explained. "Ben is no longer, He shall not live..beside he is suppose to be in the Earth."

Not knowing to be amused or insulted at his reaction to her, Dee wisely kept the instant smile to herself. HE was insulted that she had dared to call him Ben. Perhaps as insulted as she being called Adelia. Well...insulted wasn't the right word. She didn't mind her given name, she always felt like she was being chastised like a child whenever it was used. Adelia was actually a beautiful Irish name. It was a shame that a few ignorant relatives made it hard to enjoy anymore.
"You were birthed by the name of Adelia. Yes. I called you it."
She noted his guarded tone, but his words were true enough she supposed, but just because it was her given name didn't mean she used it much any more. The smile that came at his response couldn't be smothered. When she released her harsh feelings it made her free.....almost light and airy. Her heart felt almost giddy, it made it so easy to smile. Or perhaps it was the company she was in.....it would not do well to dwell on those thoughts however. That was a dangerous area that was best avoided at the moment.
Dee got a glimpse of the scars that graced his wrist and recognized what had caused them. The "why" was a mystery but she had seen the same enough before to know the "how". She listened carefully to his response to her question, slightly surprised he had bothered to explain himself.
I walked around trying to keep in the light no matter how much it burned....
She could understand what he was saying. At least to the extent a human witch can understand a vampire. Sure she had been shunned in the past for being a witch, but no matter how different she was, essentially she was still human. No one had taken her life, her soul from her.....though there had been those who had tried. Her powers gave her a step up.
She tried to put herself in his shoes. What kind of turbulent emotions would being turned cause? How would they be complicated by a relationship, especially one that had soured, with a mortal?
I sucked in every emotion that any possible human could do. His words echoed in her head. Weak? Powerless? Those were never things she would associate with either twin. The only difference she had seen between them was one had been more willing to trust than the other. The times she had seen them hunt and fight physically they seemed equally matched.
Its extremely tiring to have brother run to the rescue every time I tried to defend myself when I could not. human I wish not anymore. Blood still tastes bitter when I feed." Benjamyn had explained. "Ben is no longer, He shall not live..beside he is suppose to be in the Earth."
She didn't' allow him to move away from her. Adelia may not understand why her instincts were pushing her to keep in close contact but she always went with her instincts. Even when they made her do something stupid like open her mouth without thinking through what she was going to say.
"You know, no matter how hard you try you'll never be able to completely lose who you were. You say that Ben is no longer a part of you. That he should be buried in the ground. I don't believe you. What's more, I'm not sure that you believe it." She pressed herself closer so she could almost feel him beneath her cloak and even though he didn't like it, grabbed his wrists and held on deliberately where his scars marred his flesh. Her eyes were locked with his so intensely she hardly blinked. "I think that being vampire hasn't changed you much at all. Not until recently. You seek the light despite the burn because immortal or not it's still preferable to the darkness. You went back to school because it is apart of you to learn. Your brother comes to your "rescue" because you LET him. There's nothing wrong with you. Learning to seek out weaknesses is what I was TAUGHT to do. I was raised to slay the undead remember? I have not noticed any physical or mental weakness that would require to have your brother aide you in any fight. It's probably more habit more than anything. Or perhaps the belief that you're not as strong as you are. " Adelia lifted his right wrist up so they could both see the slanted scars that almost looked like cat scratches. Almost.
"What you done here, that's a HUMAN response to extreme inner pain that has no other outlet. Or a cry for attention. Since you don't seem like some little high school diva, I'm going to assume it's the first." Without giving him a chance to respond. She pulled his wrist to her lips and held them there, her eyes never leaving his. He smelled the same as she remembered, he felt the same. She knew his heart no longer beat but he didn't feel dead. One big difference that she had mentioned to him or Jakob was that Benjamyn's skin always had a slight warmth to it that Jakob's didn't. Smiling against his skin she wondered if he knew. The smile disappeared as she pulled her lips away, though she didn't release him, or allow him to put distance between them yet. "i think BEN, that even though you were turned, you are still essentially YOU. Your heart may have stopped, you may be technically dead but your life is still yours to live. You can always live it how you like, or you can deny yourself and be......Jakob. But I'm sure even he allows himself some joy now and again." The thought of Jakob being joyful made her laugh, and even though she tried valiantly to stop it, it echoed through the empty street. "But," she started after she could keep a straight face. "I think Ben that you need to learn to accept that because of who are, who you came from, you will never be completely happy just pretending to be a full vampire. And the thought of you being unhappy for eternity....well.." Dee cleared her throat. "that makes me sad. The one thing I've always wanted for you was to be happy." She strained so close to him her lips were a breath away his. Already she could taste him. "What would make YOU happy....."she slowly lowered her eyes to his mouth, then back to his, eyes never blinking. Her voice came out a husky breathless whisper. ".....Ben?"
((((WHOOT one of the longest posts I've ever done. And it either REALLY sucks because I'm WAY off on Benjamyn or you're going to like it. Either way I particularly like how it leaves ya hanging! LOL )))))

She didn't have a clue. As Benjamyn watched her carefully, he noted she found his deep white scars on his wrist. Dee was the first to see them, knowing that Jakob wouldn't take a guess what was going on with his twin. Did he ever be concerned over him? As she was doin' right now. Taking in some unwanted air, Benjamyn listened to everything she had to say at first. How he didn't now who he was, not accepting it. It was in a way untrue. He knew he was Benjamyn forever and that he was stuck to be a vampire. It was playing the part of someone who was weak-in his eyes.
Benjamyn had tried to change to stick up for himself yet it only led to failure. Jakob always had the last word. Always. Yet now that they were closer, Benjamyn wished to back up again...but his legs didn't move. It felt like he would be rooted in his spot for years to come. "How can you say those things when you do not know who I was from the beginning? I could of well be the richest, snobbiest boy to walk in the South. only to shift his emotions upside after he died....How do you know?" Looking down, he stared at his scars now that it was seen. They were his mark, he guessed, for a long ways to come. "Adelia, I wish to walk alone all the time, though I still be with Jakob. Sometimes its just empty without looking over my shoulder and seeing him behind me. When I do look at him, I see myself. Vampires can't see their reflections when they grow older. But I do. I look at him, and I can see what is reflected back at me. Sometimes I don't like it, other times it leaves me to be satifed that I can see myself still. Yes, I guess I do let Jakob rescue me, but I wish to do things on my own. He comes when he feels he needs too. I guess I do the same thing, We are just so connected to each other. Two parts of a yin and yang..make this perfect circle. "
Then Benjamyn paused. He did not want to look at his scars as Dee held it up for both of them to see. His eyes were still falling into hers. "I have no words to describe why I destroyed my wrist. I dun know why I did so...It will mend eventually as if nothing had happened." At this, he stopped talking, watching her as she put his wrist to her lips. He couldn't help but just wonder about her. Wondering what she was thinking, if she was taking his scars in. What? He had the power to go into her mind and see...though Benjamyn was never the one to force in others minds. Sometimes he didn't like what he was seeing.
"I don't want to be Jakob." He spoke up bluntly. "And I know for a fact that even if we traded places and be each other completely...I just cannot be reckless. Yet, Jakob could never play the part as a sensible man. He doesn't have the mind set to stand here, inhale air, and just think. Thora always speaks of how he loves him, that she can't leave..and yet, even though he can be angry all day or week, he still comes home and plays a part of someone even you did not see. I notice, when Jakob looks at her, and both of them are just teasing each other, I see him as the human boy he left behind. Its funny though. Thora says, She is attracted to Jakob out of his anger and jealousy. She knows if someone tried to harm her, Jakob will take them down without hesitation."
They were very close together. So close, no light shined through them. Benjamyn had glanced up at her eyes for the longest time, then down at her lips, following her trail a little. "No I guess not Adelia." He told her, turning the tables on the names. "I do not wish for you to be sad for me. I thought you were happy with Dustin...That I done so bad, I am forever burden for the mistakes of loosing you." Benjamyn shook off one of her hands from his wrist, the backs of his fingers brushed on her soft cotton like cheekbone. "It seemed after I was chased away, our world was forced away too. I feared for the Blade if I came back around while you walked beside Dustin." At this, Benjamyn lifted up his head looking over her shoulder as if he spotted him form the distance. Closing his eyes, he lowered his head as close to how it was before.
"You made me happy, because you believed when no one in this world ever did." His words were a whisper. Sheathing his eyes, his lips touched hers. The familiar taste of her, drew back into him. The sweet scent of her, was the only thing he could smell. His kiss was as deep as the words he spoke to her. Memories just swam into his mind, making him remember al the things he missed. Forgotten. And discarded.
"I wish to ask you something." He spoke up, his words still quiet. Opening his eyes, he stared into her for the longest time. "Do you remember when I found you with Dustin? And I fled...only to feed off what I found. Your family was the victim, My mistakes burning in once more." Pausing, he stared into her, remembering it all as if it was yesterday. How he had lost his love to blood, and a hunter-Jakob's enemy. "I wish to meet her. May I? I had failed to loose you once because of what I did...Now I wish to meet her, and get to know the one you almost lost." Another kiss came onto her lips as passionate as the first. Though, he had pulled away first again, waiting for destruction to come down, if she thought otherwise for him to see her family..

Adelia realized when her lips were parted, hovering a hair's breath next to Benjamyn's that she was playing with a fire she probably never should have started. And that she liked it. Fighting the urge to close the slight distance from him, that she didn't know she still possess she forced herself to concentrate on the words that were coming out of said tempting lips. She had forced her unsolicited opinion on him so it was only fair that pay attention to his response.
His eyes changed with his words but she didn't need to see that to know he spoke with sheer honesty. Nothing could have prepared her for the cause of his tormentation.
"I do not wish for you to be sad for me. I thought you were happy with Dustin...That I done so bad, I am forever burden for the mistakes of loosing you."
A little breathy gasp escaped her. Dee was so surprised she didn't resist when he pulled his wrists from her fingers. It was about that point that she realized her little bonfire had turned into a wildfire that was no longer within her control. She never thought in a lifetime...or several that Ben would still harbor feelings for her. It was true that technically she was a free woman now, but.......
" I was happy with Dusty." she protested. "but I made it clear when I accepted his ring that I would take it off again if he ever disappeared on me again. He disappeared.....and I took it off." she was confused. It had been a while, but not that long. Could she really be attracted to another so quickly? Was her heart really that fickle? Her head seemed to swim with contradicting feelings.
When she felt his fingers play along her cheek her eyelids fluttered down, and her swam in a different way. A more enjoyable way. Did he know how WARM he was? She should tell him, but couldn't seem to find her words at the moment. Benjamyn's touch felt so good she just wanted to indulge herself a little bit. Even when he told her his fear of being cut down by her ex, his feeling of being run off, she couldn't find a way to deny she'd ever let anything happen to him....which would have been a lie. When she hated him she WOULD have let Dusty hurt him or worse, have tried to do it herself. Since she wasn't one to lie to herself or others, she was glad she had kept her mouth shut.
"You made me happy, because you believed when no one in this world ever did."
His tone was so low Adelia almost didn't catch the words whispered on feather light breath. Her eyes shot open in surprise and closed just as quickly when the extremely unexpected feeling of his mouth covering hers took over. It was everything that she remembered, everything she had imagined long ago. His taste consumed her senses. He might not be alive, but he was pure male and his essence oozed in her every pore. It was like being out to sea in a hurricane in nothing but a life vest. That same helpless weightlessness preyed on all her senses burning forever in her memory.
When he pulled back she almost protested out loud. Keeping her eyes closed a moment longer Dee took the opportunity to rest her forehead against his for a moment to catch her breath and savor the moment. She was practically clinging to his arms, shifting her weight so she leaned on him a little. Her entire body felt heavy, electric...ALIVE. She wondered briefly if he felt the same.
He expressed his wish to ask her a question, she obligingly opened her eyes and leaned back again to meet his gaze. It seemed that Benjamyn was not yet done surprising her that night.
Do you remember when I found you with Dustin? And I fled...only to feed off what I found. Your family was the victim, My mistakes burning in once more."
She stiffened slightly out of habit more than anything when that night flashed in her eyes. Again the pain stayed away, and she relaxed her limbs again. He wanted to meet her cousin. Dee bit her lip while she listened to his reasons. He wanted to make amends which didn't surprise her. He didn't give her a chance to answer him before he kissed her again. Her response to him was as strong as the first. A moan managed to escape her. Later she would swear she felt it down to her toes, now all she could manage to do was let him posses her. When he pulled away this time a few moments later, a frustrated sound gurgled in her throat.
"You have GOT to stop doing that." sighing quietly. " I know why you want to meet Jenny. I'm just not sure it's a good idea. When I healed her I had to try to take her memories, along with her physical pain to my own body. It was a long excruciating process. It's very possible since I had never done it before that I only suppressed the memories in stead of removing them. " Dee released him and turned her back to him to let the moonlight wash over her face through the late night mist. "If that is the case, the memories could return if she were to see you since she is linked to you. That is the only reason I object. " Dee's voice grew slightly hoarse and her light Irish lilt more pronounced. "If she remembers....well it could break her. It almost did at first. After I stabilized her.....she....well. It's not important. I don't want you to feel guilty at all. Twas not your fault. Not really. I wanted you to understand my reasons. Just know that I couldn't leave any trace of what happened.
Adelia turned back to face him, took his hand and returned her eyes to his. "But, if this is something that you NEED to do Ben. Then I want you to know that I'll take you to her. My aunt had to move here with her because I couldn't transport her to California. I know it's been a year but even though she is fine, my aunt is babying her. Even though she's afraid to have her in the City, she is more afraid of upsetting Jenny. So Jenny believes that she was just ill a year ago with some disease we made up, and that I'm in natural healing that helped her recover. So if and when you want to go, I support you. And well do what needs to be done."
She smiled at him, and to pay him back kissed him without letting him reply. Instead of pulling back, she pressed her body against his and ran her hands slowly up his arms, his shoulders, to his neck to caress the smoothness of his face until they reached the silky locks of his hair. Her thoughts of payback were soon subsided by the sensations that overtook her mind. She poured everything she had into this kiss to make sure that he felt everything that she felt and was as rocked to his core as she.
((Whew! That was a doozy of a post. It took the course of several hours with MANY breaks since writer's block kept throwin off my groove. Bleh. I'm not as good as describing kisses as you are Kym....but enjoy!))

The thought of Dustin running off on Dee made Benjamyn, briefly, disappointed. He may not see eye to eye with the hunter yet, Dee had to suffer the pain that he left all for her. At least, Jakob would rest peacefully to know Dustin was good as gone and away from both of them. Benjamyn didn't know what to say to her about Dustin. He told himself after hearing what Dee had to say, Benjamyn wouldn't make promises like that. What more heartache do others need these days?
When he kissed her for the first time, She looked even more delicate that ever. Like a fragile doll that just came out of the dusty shelf. Here she was, the one he had lost over the demon in him. The killer who murdered himself, and murdered his being. Beautiful Adelia Cunnane standing infront of him, with those big eyes, reddish hair, thin body shape, she was everything that someone looked for. How could someone jsut leave when he committed himself to her? Filthy bastard. There were no words yet to describe how alive he felt, temporarily wishing to feel his heart skip a beat or letting it patter against his chest fast. The only music he heard was tuned into hers...such a mellow rhythem it made, music against this moonlight night where they stood in the middle of nowhere.
A chuckle escaped him as he pulled away from the second kiss. One that was as deep as the first. It was funny how emotion could play someone like a puppet on a string. No, Benjamyn wished to do against Dee. He would regret and hate himself later in his deathly years to come. Pushing away those feelings for her at the moment, Benjamyn eyes fell from her when she told him how she healed her cousin, those memories trying to lift away. Did Benjamyn really scar that poor girl this much? Monster. Closing his eyes tightly, he remembered his mistake for linking her to himself, in hopes to save her without changing her. "I'm sorry, I did not know what else to do. All I do is destroy with these powers.." He spoke to her, letting his head drop for that moment, feeling the desperation creep up into him as he re watched giving his blood back to Jenny, but only to find an angry and devastated Dee in the end.
Picking up his head, Benjamyn opened his eyes on her. Listening to her words so intently, he didn't even found words to speak back to her, as she repaid his kisses. The warmth soothed and chased away the coldness he could feel. (to him) His arms rested upon her waist as she pressed herself against him. It felt that now she turned the tables on him, making himself feel weak, as the smooth and fragile touch of Adelia. In that moment, with her heart pattering against his chest, he was human again. Death didn't matter anymore, not Jakob, not why he felt so horrid, or why he cut himself. His mind just seemed to still the waters as her kiss took a hold of him.
Opening his eyes to her, he found back who he was...letting his mind return as well as his control for himself. "I'm ready when you are. I must do this, It is important. And I wish to try to heal, than destroy, if things do not go well. No wonder other vampires hate I to try and bring the light in to my kind." He said, opening his eyes, with a glittery smile that showed a little playfully against them. "Transport when you feel ready, Adelia."

Dee felt relieved to see that even though his forehead dipped in strong emotion his eyes looked as beautiful as she remembered and no longer held that haunted guarded look that had worried her when she first saw him. She pressed a quick kiss to his forehead.
"I told you Ben, I don't want you feeling guilty" she said correctly reading the sagging of his shoulders. " i just wanted you to understand my point of view. This is something that you need to do, so we'll do it together." She smiled one of her dazzling smiles and keeping her body pressed to his, took his hand.
Adelia was not happy that he was still feeling guilty, but was proud that he was willing to face it and try to make amends even if it was only with himself. Most humans wouldn't have the strength or need to do it. But here he was asking to relive something very painful for him, to try and make peace with what he had done. God what a man.
"Transport when you feel ready, Adelia."
Despite that she mentally agreed with him, the part that wanted to protect Jenny as she would a child became nervous and butterflies lined her belly. She shuddered despited the warmth of her cloak and the man holding her and glanced towards the horizon. Pink and red ribbons of light slashed through the inky black sky making the stars invisible to the naked eye. Dee stared at the rapidly disappearing moon after a glance at her watch. Jenny rarely slept much at night and would probably be up. It was just before 6 and her aunt would have probably just gotten up by now to make sure Jenny wasn't by herself for too long. She really needed to give the poor girl some damn space.
"Well my dear you REALLY pick a good time to go. It's only dawn. But she's awake so......" Adelia took his other hand in hers and disappeared them both in swirl of wind and lingering fog.
When the world stopped spinning a few moments later it was in front of a two story white farm house in the country set beside a quaint little lake. The water had a thin layer of ice surrounded by a light layer of snow that managed to let a few patches of persistent brown grass grow through. The cold here hit Dee like a fist and her breath hissed out in a fine silver mist before her face.
"Jesus. You sure you don't want to wait until spring?" she asked jokingly. Keeping a hold of his right hand she led him towards the door. As they walked their shoes made a loud crunching noise that made her smile. The house had a screened in enclosed porch that surrounded the entire house. She led Ben up the few steps leading up to the screen door that squeaked when they opened it. The huge oak front door was stained a surprising bright blue color and boasted a huge silver knocker. Ignoring it, Dee just rapped on the door directly.
"Ha ha. Just ignore that....thing." She turned around and smiled at him "My aunt doesn't believe in being very subtle about anything."
She turned back when the door opened. A much too tan woman with an obvious face lift and make up so thick it looked plastered on stood in the doorway. A bottle that suspiciously resembled a vodka bottle was clutched in her hand.
"What the hell do you think you're doing here so early? Especially with company?" The smile slowly slipped off of Dee's face.
"Hello Aunt Kelly. I'm sorry to drop in unannounced. I wanted to check on Jenny. But I see she's worse." she said nodded her head at the vodka bottle. "What happened?"
"Who the hell is this?" she said pointed rudely at Ben. "Is he a freak like you?" Dee stiffened at the question but the guarded expression on her face never changed.
"NO" She said firmly and perhaps just a bit more loudly than necessary. "Just a friend who didn't want me to come alone."
"Well then I should warn you that she IS a freak." her aunt slurred at Ben. "You might want to find a new FRIEND." she sneered the word.
((OK. I'm sorry you didn't have it Friday. I had half of it Thursday night and planned to finish it Friday morning and Olivier accidentally deleted it. Silly man. Hope you enjoy. And if you're nice there MIGHT be an institution involved!!! LOL))

Taking her hand, Benjamyn, let her lead him to wherever her Aunt was located. When they arrived, Benjamyn could feel a sudden burst of wind slapped his already cold face. A smile crept onto his face. He turned to glimpse at Dee who asked him if he could wait til spring. Benjamyn chuckled at her joke. "I think it is perfect weather." He joked back, smiling at her. Benjamyn could walk around the cold weather with a t-shirt and still feel nothing on his already cold skin. Warmth just didn't seem to matter, it was getting used to being cold all the time that did.
Heading toward the house, Benjamyn scented out the territory already not scenting out the girl he had bonded to him. Though as he got closer, Benjamyn thought maybe there was to much scents to take in...that blocked Jenny. Maybe...Nodding at this, Benjamyn held the screen door open for Dee as she knocked. Benjamyn was still looking around even as the door opened, and a fresh escaped through the door. Gasping a bit, Benjamyn put his hand to his mouth and nose, the vodka smell much, much stronger than how a human would take it in.
Forcing to lower down his hand, Benjamyn narrowed his eyes at the Aunt. "Yes, just a little company." He spoke politely though how far would that go? Shaking his head, he pushed passed the Aunt, slipping himself into the house. He had to pause a little from the strong scent of alcohol that wavered around. Why must humans take in such a risk at the drinking?
Turning back to the Aunt, his black eyes grew darker a little, almost making him seem like he was Jakob when he grew mad. "Woman I have no time to waste. And you, my dear is making my minutes slip pass through my finger tips." Turning to Dee, he frowned. "She is not here. I do not scent her anywhere. I would of been able to feel her even before coming close to the house."
Turning to the Aunt, Benjamyn casually took the bottle from her, smashing it to the ground. It odor filtering more than ever before. Placing one hand beside her head, Benjamyn let out a loud angry hiss, showing both of his vampiric fangs. "Where is she?" He growled. "I wish to visit her to amend. We can do this two ways. One, tell me where she is and spare your life. Or two, I will look through your drunken mind and find her on my own, and kill you where you stand. Now chose now woman."

Dee watched Benjamyn charge through her aunt's house. Even though part of her hated her aunt for all the crap she had been put through, her aunt was some of the only family she had left...and in her own twisted way she loved her, and seeing Ben yell and take over was oddly satisfying, yet infuriating. When he threatened Aunt Kelly's life, that was the last straw for Dee.
"Stop it." she threw Ben back with a pulse of power he didn't see coming. It hit him squarely in the chest and threw him back wards. "She's drunk. She barely knows where she is, let alone anyone else is." Dee walked over to her aunt under the pretense of helping her over to the couch to sit, but was really scanning her brain. "Can you tell me anything Aunt Kelly."
Her aunt looked dazed to hear her voice, looked at her and when her eyes finally focused on her, they became enraged. "It's your fault!" she screeched."It's your fault! You did this too her!" Dee swore under her breath, reached back into her aunt's mind and put her to sleep, and laid her out on the couch. She stood over her aunt and looked down sadly.
"You know, if she hadn't have blamed me for this, I would have taken away her hang over." Her eyes hardened to a sharp green and she turned away. "But she can have her misery. The only thing I took away was the memory of you and me. She was so drunk she probably wouldn't remember us anyway but I'm not taking any chances." She took a deep breath and continued. "I know where Jenny is. They took her to the psych ward. Apparently she kept having nightmares, and muttering about the man with fangs. They thought she was going crazy and took her away. She's been there about a week. Apparently her memories didn't stay buried very long after I left." She sighed crossed the room to him, wrapped her arms around him and buried her face in his neck.
"I'm sorry I..uh...hit you." She pulled him closer and fought against the tears that stung the back of her eyes. Dee opened her mouth to say something else when floorboards above creaked loudly. She gapped and disappeared them both.
When she opened her eyes she stood before a huge white stone building that looked grey against the gray clouds. They stood at the end of the driveway leading up to the "mansion". The sign off to the side said "IronWood Institute".
"Sorry about that. That was my uncle and if he saw me....well.....one of us would have killed him. I was his favorite punching bag." She turned away from the warmth of his body and faced IronWood. The wind was cold and whipped her down, freeing her hair of it's restraints and sending a chill all the way down her cloak. "This is where they brought Jenny. I guess it's supposed to be the best in the state for people who think they've seen vampires." Dee turned back to him and kissed him deeply. "Whatever we do now is up to you."

In an instant, within seconds Benjamyn was pulled away from the Aunt and struck on the floor. He could feel a harsh push against his chest, while his back slammed onto the floor. Taking in a few heavy breaths, he tried to force himself to stand, but then thought otherwise. Maybe trying it his way was a bad idea, that he could agree too. Turning onto his side, Benjamyn looked over at Dee and her Aunt while he listened to her words.
He only nodded, refusing to make anything worse than what he did. With another breath, Benjamyn got to his feet, feeling a little flushed from the hit. Though it would surpass, sometime. Quietly Benjamyn moved over to where Dee was standing, staring at her more than the Aunt. Feeling sorry for what he had done. But in a way, he grew tired apologizing for all the things he destroyed in the past. More so, Dee cousin. He tried to shed light on what he had done, but he only made it worse.
Time and time again, Benjamyn told himself he was on the wrong side. He didn't belong in the darkness, hiding like an animal. Why did he deserve such a curse in the first place? Blinking, he pulled himself back ot reality as he felt the heat from Dee hit him head on. In an instinct, his arms were wrapped around her. His eyes watching her as she dug her head into his neck. there was nothing to say, he could not shed light, that was not what his kind was sent to do.
"Do not be sorry for your action. I needed a good hit in the chest." He told her plainly, while he lowered his head to settle a kiss onto her temple of her head. Shaking himself, he jumped a little hearing another presence near. Benjamyn started to ask about it, before he was quickly into a new environment. Looking around, Benjamyn felt his vampriic instincts kick in as he looked around the entire area. Then his black eyes landed onto IronWood Institute. Pulling his arms to his side, Ben lifted his head slightly up while he sniffed the air. Taking the faint scent. "I believe I heard of this place by passing vampires...always joking about where they sent their prey. I did not know it was a real place. A few vampires at Rina's Pub speak of it time to time." He told her, but from the expression that came onto his face, it looked as though he fell into a trance as his eyes were still glued to the building. Turning to look at Dee, he nodded, then closed his yes at her surprise kiss. Quite unpredictable she was at times. It sent shocks through his body every time the fire in her kiss connect with him. "I will seek her out. Come now, Follow." He spoke to her, smiling a quick smile to her before that trance like expression appeared back onto his face.
Up the driveway, Benjamyn was ahead of her while he sniffed out her scent like a dog looking for a fox. And as they entered, Benjamyn had to take a moment to examine the area. White was all over. The walls, celling, floor..everywhere. The light seemed brighter than usual buildings. In the air had a fill that smelled like candles wavered in and out as it pleased. Frowning, Benjamyn went into the direction that he felt Jenny. His eyes caught the people passing by. The nurses and workers wore white as well. A few looked at them, the nurses did not like the color they displayed.
Turning down one hallway, he paused pointing his nose up while his eyes looking around the area as if he was a paranoid man. A few times he quickly turned down one hallway, thinking he would be going straight. There was a moment where he found a sitting room of patients. His black eyes flashed, staring at the patients. On woman noticed Benjamyn stare back at her, tears already filtering down her eyes at the very sight of his eyes. His body turned toward her, taking in some of her memories. Visions of blood only appeared. Quickly he shook his head, fleeing from the sitting room, forcing himself to take in the scent of Jenny again.
"Who on earth, makes a girl like that a personal prey. Constantly feeding on her whenever you feel tired. It sickens me. I almost wish to track that vampire down." He snarled angrily, not knowing if he was speaking more ot Dee or to himself. But he had to force down his anger. All these crying, fearful faces he stopped could send himself into a place like this. Everytime he had passed an area with many patients, Benjamyn dropped his head, put his hands over his face hiding it all. Eyes, skin, lips-any trace of fangs he could of shown..everything. He depended on his instincts to track down Jenny.
Then Everything stopped. Benjamyn stopped dead into his tracks without warning. Snapping his head up, it slowly turned to the side, his nose sniffing in the air, then a nod. "She is right behind this door." Benjamyn told Dee, facing his entire body to it, then one black eye glimmered to Dee. Knocking a few times, he waited until he heard a faint word or two. Pausing, Benjamyn walked through the door, a smile coming onto his face as he looked at her. "Jenny?"

"I will seek her out. Come now, Follow."
Nodding silently, Dee bundled her cloak more securely around her and wished for the warmth of her vamipire beau. The thought surprised her and she smiled to herself. Despite the turmoil of their current situation she was happy to be with him. She hadn't known she could feel happy again. Soon after she had healed Jenny, Dusty had taken off so it felt so good to just be...happy.
She glanced at the back of Ben's head. Snow was lightly falling and little white snowflakes caught in his hair showing off the contrast of stark white against the silky black locks. It was one of the prettiest things she'd ever seen.
Ok, maybe she was losing her grip on her sanity. She was walking behind the vampire that had almost killed her cousin, who she had to spened the better part of a year healing, so said vampire, who she had happened to fall for AGAIN, could make amends to the cousin he almost killed. And she was thinking silly romantic thoughts when her mind SHOULD be on how to help her cousin and Ben resolve this thing once and for all. Maybe then they could all have some peace....probably not. But it was good to be optimistic. Dee would be happy if Ben and Jenny got some closure at least. Knowing that Ben was sorry for what he had done, and seeing how he had suffered gave Dee what she had needed to forgive.
Ben's voice snapped her out of the thoughts she had lost herself in. She had almost forgotten the bone chilling cold of the New York winter that swirled around her. She wasn't surprised to hear that vampires took pride in driving their prey to place like this. Most vampires she had run into were scum. PLaying with humans like a cat with a cornered mouse. It was disgusting. She slipped her hand into Ben's. For some reason she needed to feel him just then.
By the time they reached the doors of IronWood, Dee was freezing and glad to be out of the cold...even if that meant she was in this white, sterile environment. Dee followed behind Ben, then stepped up to go to the front desk when Ben just took off down the hallway.
"Hey! Wait!" She called after him but wasn't sure he heard her. He looked as if he was in a trance, like a vulture sniffing out a meal. Ben moved with sure steps through the dull emotionless hallways. She raced after him to keep up. She had to quickly skirt around a pair of nurses to keep from slamming into them. She smiled quickly at their dirty looks and hurried on to keep from losing site of Ben.
When she caught up with him, he was staring into a sitting room of sorts, his gaze transfixed on one of the females. She was about to make a joke about a human catching his eye when he spoke.
"Who on earth, makes a girl like that a personal prey. Constantly feeding on her whenever you feel tired. It sickens me. I almost wish to track that vampire down."
Dee was stunned. She never understood how creatures could be so careless with each other.
"I don't know love. If you like, we can hunt him down when we're done here." she said with all sincerity. She'd like to give that vampire a taste of his own medicine. Before she could say anything else however, he was off down the hallway again like a shot. This time she was right on his tail. Just some advice. You might want to keep the vampire talk down to a minimum or they might try to lock us up too. she spoke in his mind.
They hurried down endless hallways and passed several more sitting rooms. Dee glanced around trying to get a bearing on where they were. She noticed that he was trying to hide his face. That bothered her and she wished that she could reach out and stroke his cheek to give him support.
All the despair, medicines, and mix of minds screaming at her were starting to make her dizzy. Just when she thought she was going to have to knock him down again to make him stop for a second, he came to a halt right in front of him....and she slammed right into the back of him.
"Dammit." Her oaths were cut off with one look at his face. He was still sniffing at the air, but she knew that was unnescessary. Benjamyn had that shit scared, 'I kicked a puppy and feel like an ass' look on his face.
"She is right behind this door." he said confirming her thoughts. She stood back as he knocked. She didn't movie even as he opened the door and called her cousin's name. When he stepped through the door, she followed, then shut the door quietly behind her.
Jenny, her beautiful cousin Jenny, sat on the edge of her bed, staring out the pitifully smally window, clinging to a blue teddy bear she'd had since they were children. At first she didn't respond so Dee signaled for Ben to stay quiet by the door for a moment.
Let me talk to her first. she whispered in his mind. And gently began to probe Jenny's as she approached her cousin. She had lost weight. Her dancer's frame looked almost skeletal under her hospital issue shirt and pj pants. Her normally beautiful brown hair was unwashed, dull, and tangled. Her eyes that used to be so full of life, innocense, and hope, were dull, listless, and shadowed when they finally met her own.
"Oh Jenny." she said as she sat down. "What happened to you?" she asked, though she already knew the answer. Her aunt was right. The memories were coming back.
"Dee," her voice cracked and she grabbed her cousin and held on for dear life. "I think I'm crazy. " she whispered. " I keep seeing the man with fangs....and he....he..." Jenny couldn't say any more and tears began to flow down her cheeks. Dee had to resist the urge to go in and calm Jenny down. This was something Jenny had to come to terms with on her own.
"Jenny," she said softly. "You're not crazy." Jenny just sobbed harder
"Of course I am. Vampires don't really exisist." Dee took her chin in her forfinger and thumb and lifted her head towards Ben. After Jenny blinked the tears out of her eyes and saw him clearly, she gasped and screamed. "That's him! That's the man with fangs!" She tried to jump off the bed but Dee held her firm. "Dee, what the hell is going on?!"
"This is my friend. This is Benjamyn, and he's a vampire." She turned towards Ben. Show her she said in his head. When he heistated she yelled out loud time. "Show her!"

Benjamyn sighed heavily, letting out a heaping of air while he shook his head. 'If we hunt him down, We will be the dark ones. And if we kill him, we kill the girl too. That is the flaw for bonds.' For a moment, he paused while he felt moving. The girl kept in his head for a long moment. The look of terror that flickered in an out, and the fear that he could scent even form where he stood. Shaking his head, he forced away all of the thoughts. 'You know, I always wondered if I should lock Jakob in one of these, just to test him. I will not like the result when he finally gets out, but I think I'm already having a good laugh now.' As the thought shifted to Dee, Ben let out a laugh.
Through the hallways, turning and moving, Benjamyn moved quickly, stealthily moving passed nurses and workers. A few had called back at them to slow down, but Benjamyn did not. His senses were high, he moved. And all at once, he stopped. He had to say, he never looked for any of those he fed on before. And yet, never had a second thought what he would do to them. Unlike Jakob, Benjamyn put his victims to sleep while he fed, then when they woke, they would in a haze to watch happen. Alas, Jakob fed and left the person to fend for themselves.
Looking back at Dee, he frowned as she ran into him. "Sorry." He whispered, then turned to the door. What laid behind the door...no one could predict what could happen. Heading in, Benjamyn paused his footing, as Dee passed him. Frowning, Benjamyn leaned himself against the door, one leg propped up while his arms folded over his chest.
Carefully, he watched and listened to what happened infront of him. Did he really do this? All of this to this girl? To his loves family? His dark eyes pulled down, no longer wishing to see his scene. So many emotions flew through him. He couldn't tell, if he didn't want to do this anymore, or...to deny Dee and walk over to her. But none seemed to happen. In his head, he could hear Dee tell him to show her through his head. Yet....he did not move. Everything was still about Benjamyn.
Taking in some air, his black eyes looked up at Jenny as if a snake caught a mouse. Benjamyn glanced at Dee as she called him out again. Narrowing his eyes quickly, Benjamyn pushed himself off the door with his boot. Slowly, he walked over to the two ladies. His eyes drifted back to Jenny, taking the fear that seemed to filter the room. "You say, Vampires do not exist..and yet...you know me as the man with fangs." He spoke to her, his voice settle and neutral, yet his gaze preformed a note of curiosity.
Glancing at Dee again, he hesitated, but did what was asked. First, he bent forward only a little, taking Dee's hands, and releasing her from Jenny. Opening his mouth, he lifted his upper lip showing his pearly white fangs. Clean and sheen without any trace from his earlier feed he had before he came around Dee. Benjamyn kept his eyes on Jenny as he leaned a little more closer placing each hand on her cheek, his cold thumbs wiping away any tears. "I am Benjamyn Core, Jenny. I will not harm you, Do no fear me." He told her, his tone still leveled and neutral. One hand left her cheek while he took her hand. Slowly, he moved it toward his chest, laying it there where his heart used to beat. "You see? It has not beat since I lost my soul, my life I once had." He explained to her. Letting go over her hand, he moved his own to her chest, feeling and hearing her heart drum against herself. "I mean no harm, you see? I only with to exchange words with you dear Jenny."
'This is between Jenny and I. Whatever may happen, Dee...I wish to have it between her and I. I do smell a strong sense of fear out of her, her heart is beating quickly. If things get sour, I will not stand and defend. I hurt her, it is only fair I guess. I will only fear for myself if she finds a Silver Blade somewhere in this place...but that I know is unknown here. Her and I.' Benjamyn's eyes looked away from Dee before he turned back to Jenny, keeping his black eyes at note to what she might do..

Dee held her breath as Ben came over to comply with her request. She wanted to turn away from the fear, confusion and betrayal that was on her cousin's face, but she forced herself not to. Jenny had her hand in a vice grip, and Dee thought she might break a bone or two if her cousin squeezed it any harder, but she didnt' move. When Benjamyn lifted his lips to show her his fangs she thought the girl might faint. Her mouth was open in a silent scream and she didnt' seem able to move. Even when he introduced himself and touched her cheeks, silent tears slipped down her cheeks, but no sound came out.
Benjamyn spoke in nuetural tones but Dee didnt' think Jenny heard a word he said. Her heart was breaking for the pain she knew her cousin had to go through and wished to take it away. WHen Benjamyn took hold of Jenny's hand, Dee slipped her cloak off and slipped it around Jenny's shoulders. Her cousin's eyes followed the hand Benjamyn lifted to his empty chest. Dee hoped she was listenting when he said he only wanted to talk. Her eyes locked with her love's.
Her and I.'
Dee felt the power building but was confused as to it's source. She broke eye contact with Benjamyn, and glanced around. It was a witch's power, there was no mistaking that. Her eyes grew wide as she figured out it's source
"Benjamyn!" Her warning was too late. The same burst of power she had used on him earlier, flew out of her cousin and slammed into his face. SHe tried to get up to get Ben, but something slammed her in the cheek and sent her flying down on the bed. She felt her cousin grab at her wrist and knew what happened. Jenny saw her knives, and was stronger than she let on. She sat up and grabbed at Jenny, the material ripped in her hand as Jenny lunged forward at Ben with Dee's silver knife in hand. "Shit". She scrambled after her cousin but wasn't fast enough.
A still stunned Ben mangaged to roll over on the ground just fast enough so that the knife missed his chest and slammed into his shoulder. The sound that hissed out of his mouth, surprised Jenny enough that she hesitated when she drew the knife back again. This gave Dee enough time to tackle her before she stabbed it back into Ben. They rolled several times before Dee screamed mentally and let out a stream of very inventive gaelic curses. Jenny had landed on top of her and when Dee pushed her off the hilt of the silver blade was sticking out of her right thigh.
"God DAMN it Jenny! What the hell is wrong with you?" She glared at her cousin before grabbing her by the arm and disappearing all three of them back to her old house in the abandoned housing area.
Once safely on the floor in the privacy of her old home. Dee lit a fire in the fire place with her mind, and secured her cousin to a chair with her cloak before glancing over at Benjamyn. "You're going to have to pull this thing out of me before I can heal either of us."
